Aftermath announced a month ago Slim Da Mobster as their latest signee. He’s signed to Dr Dre’s label as a songwriter and an artist and is cooking up his album. But right now he’s contributing to Detox alongside heavyweights like Eminem, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne and T.I.
"I’m not even focused on my album right now. I’m all about his album. ’Cause the better I do on that, the better it is for the situation with my album," Slim explained to MTV News.
He impressed Eminem and 50 Cent so much that they both pushed to ink a deal. As a result Slim Da Mobster who grew up in South Central and Dallas is now in a unique position being signed to Aftermath / Shady / G-Unit Records.
The young MC dropped a mixtape hosted by DJ Clue that built him a pretty big buzz on L.A. Now that he’s signed to the good doctor, he will be able to use only Dr Dre beats for his album.
